Side by side
What it really costs over 3 years
A custom build costs more on day one. A subscription costs more every month after that. Here is the total over three years, using each provider's published starting prices.
Against a tailored FMG site, a custom FA Digital site costs about the same over three years. After that it costs $300 a year instead of $1,788, and you own it. If all you need is a basic template site, a subscription is cheaper, and we say so.
Starting prices from each provider's public pricing page, November 2026. Excludes add-ons, taxes, price increases and optional services. FA Digital's Webflow hosting is billed annually; month to month it is $39.
Head-to-head comparisons
Subscription platform or custom build?
- You want the lowest upfront cost.
- A template that other advisors use is enough.
- You want email and content tools in the same login.
- Your website should bring in new clients, not just look professional.
- You want to own it, with no platform lock-in.
- You'd rather not deal with updates, plugins or security.
Common questions
How much does a financial advisor website cost?
Subscription platforms run from about $75 to $1,044 a month, with setup fees up to about $3,500. Custom agency builds usually run from $5,000 to $15,000 or more as a one-time project, plus hosting.
Do I own my website on FMG or Broadridge?
Both host your site on their own platforms as part of a subscription. Neither publishes export terms on its pricing page, so ask before you sign. A custom Webflow or WordPress site can be moved to another provider.
Which provider is best for compliance?
None of them can approve your site for you. Your compliance team or broker-dealer still has to review it. FMG offers one-click submission and managed review on Premium. FA Digital builds with the SEC Marketing Rule, FINRA and state rules in mind and hands over a site that is ready for review.
Is a custom website more expensive than a subscription?
Upfront, yes. Over three years, a custom FA Digital site costs about the same as a tailored subscription site, and after that it costs far less because the only ongoing cost is hosting.
Is Twenty Over Ten part of FMG?
Yes. FMG Suite, now FMG, acquired Twenty Over Ten in late 2020.
